SRP Events Page Redesign

Problem

SRP regularly hosts and participates in events across the Valley to support customers and community partners. However, many customers are unaware of these events or are discouraged by the distance required to attend. The existing events page is a basic chart with minimal interactivity, making it difficult for users to find relevant events.

Project Goal

Enhance the user experience of the SRP events page by introducing an interactive map that helps customers easily discover events near their location.

Initial Design Exploration

To assess feasibility, I created a rough prototype and explored the following key questions:
- What categories of events are most relevant?
- What information do customers prioritize?
- What are the needs of internal stakeholders (e.g., the events team)?
- Can SRP’s cartographic tools support this functionality?
- Is the proposed UI technically and practically feasible?

Research & Insights

To inform the design direction, I conducted interviews and surveys with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identified common questions and confusion points.
- Used survey data to conduct a basic card sort.
- Defined key event categories and prioritized content.
- Insights helped shape the content structure and interaction model for the map.

Updated Prototype

Based on research and feedback, I refined the prototype to better align with user needs.
- Improved layout and content hierarchy.
- Integrated feedback from the events and cartographic teams.
- Collaborated with developers to ensure technical feasibility of the interactive map.
